Union on 24th

Completed in 2023, Union on 24th is a high-rise student housing development located at 701 W 24th St in Austin, Texas. Designed with performance and durability in mind, the project integrates INTUS high-performance window systems to meet demanding energy, acoustic, and structural standards in a dense academic environment.

The building features energy-efficient windows with glazing options including double and triple configurations, utilizing SunGuard® Low-E coatings. Glass thicknesses range from 22mm to 42mm and include both annealed and tempered types, with optional ceramic enamel for added functionality and design versatility. The system achieves a U-value of 0.25, a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) of 0.14, and visible transmittance of 0.42, contributing to thermal comfort and daylight optimization.

Acoustic performance is rated at STC 32 / OITC 26, helping to minimize exterior noise and enhance living quality. The panelized construction method, combined with aluminum L-angles and mounting brackets, ensures efficient and secure installation suited for high-rise environments.
